I wish to express our indignation on two recent developments in the Balkans. One is the arrest of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic and the other is the forthcoming agreement between Bulgaria and NATO for free passage of NATO troops.
With 100 million dollars, the Americans, NATO and the European Union succeeded in overthrowing president Milosevic. For another 100 million they secured his arrest with the prospect of his delivery to the so called "War Crimes Tribunal" at the Hague, which has been set up by imperialism in order to justify its own crimes.
The people and only the people have the right to judge their leaders. President Milosevic would not have been arrested if he had succumbed to the demands of NATO. Is this the punishment of those who resist? Yet those who have given everything to imperialism, such as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, suffer the armed insurrection of those favoured by NATO.
The developments in the Balkans show clearly that we have not seen the end of the war yet. Only when NATO leaves the region can the people hope to live in peace.
