FALCO ACCAME

Falco Acaame

A companion of Nino Pasti in his many struggles to denounce the behind-the-scenes economic interests and the anti-democratic aims of the military-industrial complex, Accame was assigned, as a high-ranking naval officer, to direct the Interforce Operations Research group and to represent Italy at the Unesco Foundation during the 1973 World Congress on the perception of the coming threat. In 1975, Accame resigned his command of the ship "Indomito" in protest over the authoritative management of power in the armed forces.

Elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1976, he served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Defence Committee, and as a member of the parliamentary investigative commission on defence contracts.

Accame was also elected to the Council of the Liguria Regional Government and to the Municipal Council of Rome, in addition to being a National Councilor of the Environmental League. He is currently Chairman of Ana-Vafaf, the Association which safeguards the interests of the families of military personnel who have died in peacetime, as well as Vice Chairman of the Seagull Committee for Safety at Sea, and a member of the Committee for the Defence and the Revival of the Italian Constitution.

The author of numerous essays and articles, he is particularly active in denouncing the sinister role played in Italian affairs by secret service organizations under the control of the United States, as well as the changes being made in the Italian armed forces in the interests of preparing the country for a more aggressive role on the international scene under the auspices of the NATO.
